12 Years of Blogging: A Journey of Gratitude and Growth
Twelve years ago, I embarked on a journey that started as a pastime — a blog where I could share my thoughts, experiences, and passions to the world. Little did I know that this simple endeavour would open doors I never imagined, it connected me to people not just from the Philippines or Canada but from around the globe. As I reflect on this incredible journey, I am filled with immense gratitude and a renewed sense of purpose.
When I was just starting this blog, I had the time and freedom to write extensively, pouring my heart and soul into each post. Writing has always been my heart's desire, a passion that has accompanied me since I was younger. In high school, I had one of my stories published in a popular love story comics, that inspired me to write three love stories using a typewriter, hoping to have the chance to submit them to a popular love story pocketbook publisher during that time. Although those stories got lost after I lent them to friends, the dream of publishing a book stayed with me.

What started as a personal project has evolved into something much more significant. This blog has become a platform for connection, a place where I've met incredible individuals and formed lasting relationships. It has allowed me to share my journey as a Filipino immigrant in Canada, my experiences as a mother, and my insights as a financial advisor. Through this blog, I have been able to educate, inspire, and support others, especially fellow immigrants striving to build a better life in a new country.
I am deeply grateful for the opportunities this blog has brought into my life. The connections I've made, the stories I've shared, and the feedback I've received have enriched my life in ways I could never have imagined experiencing these things if I never had a blog. I may not have the chance to publish a book, but my blog has given me a channel to publish my thoughts and reach a broad audience. It has fulfilled a part of my childhood dream and up to now, it is still a source of my joy and fulfillment.
Life, as it often does, had its own plans. The demands of my profession as a wealth and insurance advisor, along with the various roles I play as a mother, friend and community member, made it increasingly challenging to find the time to write. Despite these challenges, my love for writing never waned. While I may not write as frequently as I did in the beginning, my blog remains a cherished outlet for my thoughts and reflections.
As I celebrate 12 years of blogging, I am filled with gratitude for each reader, each comment, and each shared experience. Your support and engagement have been the driving force behind this journey. While the frequency of my posts may have diminished, the passion and commitment remain as strong as ever.
Looking ahead, I am excited about the future of this blog. I hope to find more time to write and share my thoughts with you, despite the demands of my professional and personal life. I am committed to continuing this journey, inspired by the connections we've made and the stories yet to be told.
